Das ABM –Austrian Bass Musik Projekt ging 2016 mit dem Ziel an den Start, kulturellen Austausch, künstlerische Freiheit und Kulturarbeit über Ländergrenzen hinweg zu ermöglichen und im Rahmen des Seasplash Festivals zeitgenössische österreichische Interpretationen der Klänge der Jamaikanischen Diaspora und der sich daraus ableitenden Soundsystem Kultur zu integrieren.
Die Zusammenarbeit von kroatischen und österreichischen Künstlern hat sich mittlerweile zu einem Programm entwickelt, welches Pre-Parties für das Seasplash in Österreich und Performances von ABM Künstlern am Festival ermöglicht, um die jeweilige lokale Szene zu fördern und die Verbindung zwischen dem Seasplash Festival und der österreichischen Digitalmusik Szene zu stärken.
Darüber hinaus verfolgt das ABM – Austrian Bass Music Projekt einen unbürokratischen Ansatz mit dem Fokus die unkommerzialisierte kroatische und österreichische Underground Szene auf niederschwellige Art und Weise zu vernetzen.
Deswegen hat sich das Seasplash Festival mit dem szenebekannten österreichischen Kulturproduzenten, Soundsystem Aktivisten und Projektmanager Mag. Mathias Weiss a.k.a. DJ Diaz zusammengeschlossen. Als freischaffender Kulturmanager und Soziologe entwickelt er Projekte in Zusammenarbeit mit öffentlichen Institutionen, hält Vorlesungen an Universitäten und ist in der Kulturvermittlung und Vermarktung von Performance- und Medienkunst tätig.
Durch die Expertise von DJ Diaz und das konstante Engagement des Seasplash Festivals sich zu vernetzen und ein stetig unter-subventioniertes und von Finanziers oft unbeachtetes kulturelles Feld schrittweise weiterzuentwickeln, ist es möglich geworden die Digitalmusik-Szenen beider Länder zusammenzuführen, Synergien zu bilden und neue Bereiche kultureller Überschneidungen in einer europäischen Geisteshaltung aufzubauen.

The Austrian Bass Music Project started in 2016 with the aim of making a free and easy cultural transmission, artistic creation and cultural production across national borders possible in the framing of the Seasplash Festival.
This cultural exchange project between Croatian and Austrian musicians developed a scheme which featured Pre-Parties for the Festival, hosted Stages of ABM Artists and of highlightened all performances with the agenda of reinforcing the respective domestic scenes and increasing the mutual trust between the participating parties.
Furthermore the Austrian Bass Music Project follows an unbureaucratic approach and acts with a focus in increasing low threshold networking between the Croatian and Austrian uncommercialised and underground digital music scenes.
Therefore the Seasplash Festival federated with one of Austria’s well known force in cultural production, sound system activism and cultural project management Mag. Mathias Weiss a.k.a. DJ Diaz.
As a freelance cultural manager and sociologist he develops projects jointly with public institutions, gives lectures at universities and is engaged in the field of the promotion and education of culture, performative- and multimedia arts.
Due to DJ Diaz’ expertise and the great and constant willingness of the Seasplash Festival to progressively develop a cultural field that is constantly undersupplied and often disregarded by funding institutions, the Austrian Bass Music Project is able to act strongly within the scope of merging scenes, building synergies and of gaining new fields of cultural intersections in the European mind set.
